Valentines Day Gifts : With A Personal Touch
Contributor February 5th, 2011
Most people delay buying Valentine’s Day gifts until the last minute; they’re not sure what to get their partner and fear that maybe they won’t like the gift they bought. Some choose to purchase high end items like jewelry; others choose the simpler route of flowers and chocolate. For your gift to have special meaning for your partner you need to put a bit more effort into purchasing it. Here I will show you some tips on how to get your partner a gift they will love.
The first thing you do is buy them chocolate or candy, I know you’re probably thinking but you just told me not to, but what I’m trying to tell you is get them the right kind of chocolates and candies and don’t forget how important it is how you present your gift to them as well.
Getting your partner a box of heart shaped chocolates with cherries inside might seem like a good idea but an even better idea is buying them their favorite type of chocolate; it could be M&M’s or dark chocolate or even some Hershey Kisses. But here’s the fun part, you wrap their chocolate in another gift that you bought them. For instance if you buy your partner a shawl, scarf, tie, shirt whatever you know they’ll love and you wrap the chocolates into that.
You’ll probably get extra points if you also add to the gift something you made from scratch; like cookies or a cake, you don’t need to be a professional chef to make these items either, you’ll find at your local grocery store boxes of cake and cookies recipes that require few ingredients or you can grab the old cookbook and bake from scratch and if you’re really comfortable in the kitchen you might consider cooking them a nice home cooked meal.
The next step would be to buy your partner some beautiful flowers, not just a dozen roses but find out which flowers your partner really loves, you might already know or you can ask family and friends. Buying your partner a bouquet of their favorite flowers will show them just how much you really care.
None of this would be complete without a Valentine’s Day card. There are all types of cards from romantic to humorous, what’s important though is that you write something special in the card meant for them. If you are at a loss for words you can let them know how much in love with them you are and how grateful you are that they are in your life and list some of their qualities that you appreciate.
Valentine’s Day does not need to be dreaded; it’s easy to impress your partner when you use your own personal touch on all the right Valentines day gifts.
